BIMB SECURITIES SDN BHD

BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd (“BIMBSEC”) has been appointed as the Shariah Adviser for TAIF, TADO, TAICP, TAIB, TADF, TABRIC, TADA and TADART (“the Funds”). BIMBSEC will provide Shariah advisory services on the mechanism of the operations of the Funds’ activities to ensure that the Funds comply with Shariah requirements as stipulated by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC).

BIMBSEC is a stockbroking subsidiary of BIMB Holdings Berhad and was incorporated on 21 February 1994.

The Company’s corporate mission is to be an active participant in a modern, innovative and dynamic Islamic capital market of Malaysia, catering for the needs of all investors Muslims or Non-Muslims, looking for Shariah-compliant investment products and services.

BIMBSEC is also registered with the SC to act as a Shariah Adviser for Shariah-compliant products and services regulated by the SC. To date, BIMBSEC is a Corporate Shariah Adviser to nine (9) fund management Companies and has over eighty-two (82) Islamic collective investment funds under its supervision.

PROFILE OF THE DESIGNATED SHARIAH PERSON

Ir. Dr. Muhamad Fuad bin Abdullah

Ir. Dr. Muhamad Fuad bin Abdullah (Dr. Muhamad Fuad), the designated person in-charge of all Shariah matters in BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd is appointed on 1 June 2011. He was concurrently appointed to the Shariah Advisory Committee of BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1977 and a Master of Philosophy Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1982, both from the University of Southampton, England. He also obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Shariah from the University of Jordan in 1994 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Muslim Civilization from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 1996.

He is a registered Shariah Adviser with the SC since 2010. Currently, he also serves as the Chairman of the Shariah Committee of MIDF Group of Companies. He sits on the boards of Gagasan Nadi Cergas Berhad, Mesiniaga Berhad, PNB Commercial Sdn Bhd, Universiti Tun Abdul Razak Sdn Bhd, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (“USIM”), USIM Tijarah Holdings Sdn Bhd and Institut Kefahaman Islam Malaysia (“IKIM”), a public company limited by guarantee.

Until early this year, Dr. Muhamad Fuad has been an EXCO member of the Association of Shariah Advisers for Islamic Finance (“ASAS”) since its inception in 2012. He now chairs the Association’s Professional Development Committee. He is the Chairman of the Advisory Panel of the Faculty of Syariah and Law of USIM since 4th October 2016.

Dr. Muhamad Fuad is a recipient of the National Book Award 2015 for his book published by IKIM entitled "The influence of Islam Upon Classical Arabic Scientific Writings: An examination of the Extent of Their Reference to Quran, Hadith and Related Texts”.

 

AMANIE ADVISORS SDN BHD

Amanie Advisors Sdn Bhd ("Amanie") has been appointed as the Shariah Adviser for TADG50 ("the Fund"). Amanie will advise the mechanism of the operations of the Fund' activities to ensure that the operation of the Fund comply with Shariah requirements.

Amanie Advisors Sdn Bhd (''Amanie'') is a Shariah advisory, consultancy, training and research and development boutique for institutional and corporate clientele focusing on Islamic financial services. It has been established with the aim of addressing the global needs for experts and Shariah scholars' pro-active input. One of the first global boutique Shariah advisory houses for Islamic Finance, Amanie was founded in 2005 by internationally renowned Shariah scholar Datuk Dr Mohd Daud Bakar. Datuk Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar
Shariah Adviser/Executive Chairman

Datuk Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar is the Founder and Executive Chairman of Amanie Group. One of its flagship companies namely Amanie Advisors, is operating in few cities globally. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Shariah Advisory Council at the Central Bank of Malaysia, the Securities Commission of Malaysia, Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia (YaPEIM), the Labuan Financial Services Authority and the First Abu Dhabi Bank.

He is also a Shariah board member of various global financial institutions, including the National Bank of Oman (Oman), Amundi Asset Management (France), Bank of London and Middle East (London), BNP Paribas Najma (Bahrain), Guidance Financial (USA), Salama Insurance (Dubai), Natixis Bank (Dubai), Oasis Asset Management (South Africa), Noor Islamic Bank (Dubai), Bank al-Khayr (Bahrain), Morgan Stanley (Dubai), Franklin Templeton (Kuala Lumpur and Luxembourg), Sedco Capital (Saudi and Luxembourg), Cagamas Berhad (Malaysia), S & P Islamic Index and Dow Jones Islamic Market Index (New York) amongst many others.

In the corporate world, he sits as a Board Director at Sime Darby Berhad and a member of the PNB Investment Committee. He is also the third Chair Professor in Islamic Banking and Finance of Yayasan Tun Ismail Mohamed Ali Berdaftar (YTI) PNB at Faculty of Economics and Muamalat, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM).

In 2016, he received the “Award of Excellence for Outstanding Contribution for Shariah Leadership & Advisory” at London Sukuk Summit Awards and “Shariah Adviser Award” at The Asset Triple A Islamic Finance Award. In 2014, he received the “Most Outstanding Individual” award by His Majesty, the King of Malaysia, in conjunction with the national-level Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.

Under his leadership, Amanie Advisors received the “Islamic Economy Knowledge Infrastructure Award” at the Global Islamic Economy Summit, Dubai 2015, by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Oct 2015.

Prior to this, he was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the International Islamic University Malaysia. He received his first degree in Shariah from University of Kuwait in 1988 and obtained his PhD from University of St. Andrews, United Kingdom in 1993. In 2002, he completed his external Bachelor of Jurisprudence at University of Malaya.

His first book entitled “Shariah Minds in Islamic Finance: An Inside Story of A Shariah Scholar” has won the “Islamic Finance Book of the Year 2016” by the Global Islamic Finance Award (GIFA) 2016. His new released book on sukuk entitled “An Insightful Journey to Emirates Airline Sukuk: Pushing The Boundaries of Islamic Finance” has also won the “Best Islamic Finance Case 2017” by the GIFA 2017 in Kazakhstan.

Amran Ibrahim
Consultant

Amran Ibrahim is the Consultant within Amanie Advisors, based in Kuala Lumpur office. As part of the Amanie Advisors Kuala Lumpur office team, his primarily focus are on advising and delivering project for various Islamic financial services across the globe on their strategic issues and on Shariah compliant product and instruments ranging from capital market, funds management, private equity, banking products across the corporate, commercial and consumer banking space among others.

Amran has over 15 years of experience in Financial Advisory, specialising in areas of Islamic capital market, corporate banking, trade finance and product development. He has also been involved in numbers of advisory engagement for various Islamic financial institutions and regulators. This includes transfer and servicing of financial assets, conversion exercises, Shariah monitoring and compliance review for various clients including financial institutions and global asset management companies.

Amran expertise lies in the innovation in product development and understanding business deal advisory involving big corporate by providing practical solutions and advices to clients in a consulting project through analysis of data, communication and understanding client’s objective.

Ahamd Anas Fadzil
Consultant

Ahmad Anas Fadzil (CIPA) is a Consultant with Amanie Advisors and a Professional Accountant by profession. Currently, he is based at the Head Office in Kuala Lumpur. As part of Amanie Advisors’ global team, his primary focus is on advising and consulting Clients from various Islamic financial institutions, regulators and corporations across the globe on Shariah compliant products, instruments and other services as well as on their strategic and corporate issues.

Prior to joining Amanie Advisors, he was attached with Sigur Ros, a global Malaysian based company for Turkey Government’s Project of the Century known as the Turkish Republic North Cyprus Water Supply project where he had been assigned as the Project Accountant based in Turkey overseeing the project cost budgeting, project cost management, project reporting, project financing as well other administrative matters including handling the local tax authority and local bodies.

Prior to that, he was an external auditor with Messrs. Ernst & Young based in Kuala Lumpur, whereby he was attached to the Global Financial Services department, engaged in performing auditing work for the financial institutions including Maybank, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), EXIM Bank Berhad and Malaysian Electronic Payment Systems (MEPS).

He holds a professional certification of Certified Islamic Public Accountant (CIPA) from Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institution based in Bahrain (AAOIFI), Masters of Islamic Finance (MSc) from The Global University of Islamic Finance (INCEIF), and is an accounting graduate from MARA University of Technology (UiTM). He speaks Turkish, English and Malays.
